Breaking News is an original hand-signed artwork by Dutch artist Dadara, born Daniël Rozenberg, dating from 1998.

The work measures approximately 26 × 28 cm / 10.2 × 11 in and is presented in an acrylic frame with approximately 2 cm / 0.8 in added on each side, giving overall framed dimensions of approximately 30 × 32 cm / 11.8 × 12.6 in.

Created in 1998, Breaking News dates from an important early period in Dadara’s artistic development. During the 1990s, he became closely connected to Amsterdam’s underground and electronic-music culture while simultaneously developing a broader independent art practice.

Dadara’s work frequently combines bold graphic imagery, humor, surrealism, and criticism of contemporary society. Recurring subjects throughout his career include communication, money, political systems, identity, freedom, mass culture, technology, and the ways information influences public perception.

The title Breaking News suggests a direct engagement with media culture and the constant circulation of urgent information. While no published interpretation of this specific work could be verified, the subject fits naturally within Dadara’s broader interest in systems of communication and the visual language through which society presents ideas, authority, and current events.

As an original, hand-signed work from 1998, Breaking News represents an early example of the visual and conceptual concerns that would continue through Dadara’s later paintings, installations, public interventions, and socially engaged projects.

A strong original work for collectors of Dadara, Dutch contemporary art, Amsterdam underground culture, 1990s visual culture, media-inspired art, social commentary, and early works by the artist.
