L.O.V.E. by Maurizio Cattelan is a collectible concrete sculpture based on the artist’s provocative public monument in Piazza Affari, Milan, the square of the Italian stock exchange. The original 2010 sculpture, commonly known as Il Dito or “the finger,” depicts a hand with all fingers severed except the raised middle finger. The title L.O.V.E. is an acronym for Libertà, Odio, Vendetta, Eternità — “Freedom, Hatred, Revenge, Eternity.”
