28 Millimètres by The Skateroom x JR is a single wall-mounted skateboard deck based on JR’s Women Are Heroes project in Kibera, Kenya. The deck features a powerful close-up image of a woman’s eyes, transforming JR’s large-scale public photography into a collectible skate-art edition produced on 7-ply Grade A Canadian maple wood by The Skateroom.

28 Millimètres by The Skateroom x JR is a limited-edition skateboard artwork based on Women Are Heroes, Action in Kibera Slum, “In to the Wild”, Kenya, 2009. The image comes from JR’s wider Women Are Heroes project, which uses large-scale public portraits to tell the stories of women affected by conflict, hardship, and social injustice. On the deck, the close-up gaze becomes a direct and powerful visual statement about dignity, visibility, and humanity. 

Produced by The Skateroom in 2019, the single deck is screen printed on 7-ply Grade A Canadian maple wood and measures approximately 80 × 20 cm / 31 × 8 in. It includes wall-mounting hardware and The Skateroom certificate of authenticity. Released in a limited edition of 500, 28 Millimètres is a strong collector’s piece for fans of JR, public art, photography, street art, and artist-designed skateboard editions.
