The Lady & The Mirror GN170 by Japanese artist Miran Fukuda for Swatch is a collectible Artist Special wristwatch from 1997. Measuring 34 mm / 1.34 in in diameter, the watch features a romantic painted composition extending across the strap and dial, incorporating a distinctive three-dimensional mirror effect. The quartz watch formed part of Swatch’s fourth Artist collection, devoted entirely to women artists.

The Lady & The Mirror GN170 by Miran Fukuda for Swatch is an artist-designed Gent wristwatch released in 1997 as part of the Swatch & Art collection. The model formed part of Artist Set 4, a group of six watches designed entirely by women artists.

The watch has a 34 mm / 1.34 in plastic case, a thickness of 8.75 mm / 0.34 in, and a lug-to-lug measurement of 39.2 mm / 1.54 in. It is powered by a Swiss quartz movement and is rated to 3 bar / 30 m water resistance.

Miran Fukuda’s design presents a romantic painted scene extending from the plastic strap onto the dial. A distinctive three-dimensional mirror motif stretches from the strap toward the watch face, where the reflected image of the woman becomes integrated into the dial itself. This combination of painting, illusion, and functional design gives the watch the appearance of a small wearable artwork.

The Lady & The Mirror was also included in Swatch’s Artist Set 4 alongside watches by Jo Whaley, Kveta Pacovská, Donna Muir & Su Huntley, Nancy Dwyer, and Su Huntley. When presented as the complete set, the six specially designed boxes combine to spell the word “ARTIST.”

The GN170 reflects Swatch’s longstanding collaborations with contemporary artists, transforming the wristwatch into a portable canvas and collectible design object.
